Supra Drag Racing Wheel Set-Up Weld RT-S S-71 Front and or Rear 1993-1998 Supra

We have put together a complete drag race wheel package for the MKIV Toyota Supra, which is proven to provide the best fitment and still look great. Included optionally are both front and rear wheels, caps and valve stems.
Optionally also available are full lug nut kits (open ended standard and shank), as well as PHR hubcentric hub rings. Hubcentric rings all the wheels more support as it uses a hub ring to provide the weight load as opposed to using only the wheel studs.
We use the WELD WHEELS RT-S S71 series and offer two separate packages depending upon personal choice. Both kits come with 15"x 10" rear RT-S S71 wheel in an all aluminum polished finish. Black center (as pictured on black Supra is optional).
Now here is the truth on ALL Weld Wheels for the Supra in regards to a drag race set-up. There are some light to moderate modifications required in order to fully clear your tire choice. Many suppliers won't tell you this up front, we do.
Rear Wheel/Tire Clearance
All 15" Rear Wheels will require the NA Supra rear brake set-up as the TT brakes will not allow the wheel to clear the calipers. We sell these new and they are also readily available in the used market.
The 15" rear wheel can support up to a 325 rear tire. Most Supra owners choose a 275 or 295, with the 275 requiring just a trim on the rear calipers and possible a mild roll of the rear fenders. A 295 wide tire fits with either a rolled or trimmed rear fender. People have run 8 and 9 second passes on a 295 tire, so unless you have big power, the 295 tire will be fine. A 325 tires fits with modifications to rear fender (roll and trim), as well as trimming of plastic inside rear wheel well and the outside black plastic trim on the lower rear wheel well fender area.
Front Wheel/Tire Clearance
On the front we offer the RT-S S71 wheel in either a 18"x 9" street kit or 17"x 5" drag application. If you drive your car to the track any distance the 18x9 is a better option and still has good tracking down the drag strip.
The 17x5 front wheels offer better straight line tracking and stability, and while these are the STREET series Weld's they are only 5" wide, so you must be cautious when navigating any corners to and from the track.

We take all the guess-work out of the offsets, pad height and terms you may not be familiar with. Please understand that no matter the brand of 15" rear wheel you run, you will need to run the smaller Non-Turbo (NA) Supra rear brake package (calipers, pads, rotors), in order to provide proper clearance.
About 75% of customers have to grind about a 1/4" from a small section on the rear caliper to provide absolute clearance. Takes 5 minutes. After a bit of touch-up paint, no one can tell (yes, we're experienced).
Please note that if you race a closely monitored NHRA track, that you must have wheels studs that penetrate completely through the lug nuts. Longer wheels studs are optionally available at additional cost from many suppliers Summit Racing, JEGS, etc. as well as through us.
